Honoré-Mercier Bridge – MTQ works : Complete Closure towards the South Shore

MTQ WORKS

The ministère des Transport invites the public to plan their trips safely by visiting www.quebec511.info before departure. This intervention might be shortened due to work progression or cancelled because of weather conditions.

From Saturday, February 21st, 2 AM, to Monday, February 23rd, 5 AM, both westbound lanes of the upstream bridge (towards the South Shore) will be closed to traffic. No traffic will be allowed towards the South Shore. Only both eastbound lanes (towards Montreal) will remain opened to traffic.

The ministère des Transport invites the public to plan their trips safely by visiting www.quebec511.info before departure. This hindrance may also be required on Friday February 27, 22 am at the Monday, March 2 , 5 pm , according to work progress .

This one way configuration will ensure road users safety in case of bad weather and will facilitate snow removal and de-icing operations that might be required during winter season. Indeed, these operations cannot be properly performed with contraflow traffic, because the width of the lanes is not adequate and safe for snow removal vehicles.

According to those circumstances, the most optimal and secure configuration for upcoming lane closures is the one mentioned above. The Ministère is aware of the impacts caused to traffic and thanks all road users and its partners for their comprehension.

This intervention might be shortened due to work progression or cancelled because of weather conditions. Other lane closures might be necessary for such work in the coming weeks.

The ministère des Transport invites the public to plan their trips safely by visiting www.quebec511.info before departure.
