We wish to inform you that there will be no major work this weekend (May 19 & 20) on the Honoré Mercier Bridge (or the side of the province – MTQ). The bridge will be fully opened to traffic in view of the major work in the corridor of the Champlain Bridge.
We invite you to take this bridge as an alternative to the Champlain Bridge.
Thank you!

We are proud to offer a brand-new layout for our blogs. It was important for us to place a renewed emphasis on the user-friendly attributes of the Corporation’s blogs for the Champlain Bridge Corridor, the Jacques Cartier Bridge and for the federal section of the Honoré Mercier Bridge. Given the planned roadwork on these major routes linking Montreal to the South Shore, we wanted to offer an easy-to-use platform to help you find the information you need to avoid traffic.
You can access our latest posts via the “Breaking News” section, in order to be informed of the upcoming work schedule. You can also consult the “Major Headlines” section to find out more about the nature of the roadwork taking place on the bridges, the season’s schedule along with photos and videos of the work that is being carried-out. Sending us your questions will always be an option, and just like before, you will still have access to live footage from our cameras. We invite you to follow us on our various social media platforms (Twitter, Youtube, Flikr, Tumblr…) in order to stay informed of the upcoming traffic hindrances and to stay up-to-date with the work that we are doing.
On a final note, I am glad to participate in the management of the Corporation’s three blogs, alongside André. Having assisted him in the writing of multiple blog posts to-date, I am pleased to now be officially part of these blogs.
Thank you for continuing to follow-us and in the hope that the information included on these platforms is useful to you.

THE WORK BELOW HAVE BEEN CANCELED BY THE MTQ
In its pursuit of structural elements reinforcement work of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge, the ministère des Transports wishes to inform road users that both westbound lanes will be closed to traffic from Friday, May 11, 10 AM, until Monday, May 14, 5 AM.
During this period, traffic will be diverted on the downstream bridge. One lane will be opened in each direction.
This restriction is necessary to work on some gusset plates.
These works might be canceled or postponed due to weather conditions or operational constraints.
This year again, the road works will be very many on the roads of Quebec. The Ministry of Transport reiterates the importance for the safety of all workers as road users to respect the roadwork signs and flagmen instructions found in sites. It invites the public to plan their trips safely by visiting www.quebec511.info before departure.
Have a good trip!
