Closure of Ramp 2 from May 29 to June 1 2009
We wish to inform the public of the closure, in two phases, of ramp 2; more specifically, the access ramps to and from La Prairie from Friday May 29, in the evening, to Monday June 1, in the morning.
Firstly, the access ramp to the bridge from La Prairie will be completely closed from 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30. In addition, the left lane of the ramp to La Prairie will also be closed.
The second phase will consist in the complete closure of the ramp to La Prairie from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, until 5 :00 a.m. on Monday, June 1. In addition, the left lane of the access ramp from La Prairie will be closed.
Road signs will inform motorists of alternate routes to be used for the time of the repair work. For further details, we invite you to consult our maps which are presenting alternate routes : phase 1 and phase 2.
This site work is part of the Mercier Bridge rehabilitation project. It will enable the installation of work platforms under the access ramp to the bridge from Châteauguay (ramp 4).
Also, please note that the overhead clearance under ramp 4 will decrease to 3.9 meters starting at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, for motorists coming from La Prairie taking the access ramp to the bridge. For the next several months, trucks that are higher than the overhead clearance will have to use the recommended alternate route namely by Route 138 and the Route 207 exit.
