Reminder – Closure of Ramp 4 Starting Monday, June 22
Access to the Bridge from Châteauguay Detour Until October 2009
We wish to remind the public of the complete closure of the access ramp to the Mercier Bridge from Châteauguay (ramp 4) as of June 22 for about 4 months.
In an effort to speed up work, traffic will be diverted to Route 132 in order to isolate ramp 4. Motorists coming from Châteauguay will have to make a temporary detour, which will allow them to access the bridge by taking Route 132 from La Prairie. This temporary detour will enable the contractor, Mohawk Bridge Consortium, to replace the deck of this access ramp using prefabricated panels. (See explanatory video).
It is IMPORTANT to note that starting Saturday, June 20 until the end of this phase of the work, motorists who wish to take the access road connecting Route 132 to Route 138 will have to take Old Malone road rather than the usual access road. (See the work site Map of Ramp 4).
