The construction-design process to be implemented for the Mercier Bridge roadwork is highly efficient, puts additional responsibilities on the contractor and avoids duplication of efforts. In addition to the usual contractor obligations, the contractor is fully responsible for designing, conceiving and detailing the new decks of the three ramps to be repaired.

This process allows the contractor to work with the designers and sub-contractors to design and plan every phase of implementation, allowing in turn for reducing delays and budget issues.
