About us
The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL), a Crown corporation under Transport Canada.
JCCBI is primarily funded through Parliament. Income from other sources, such as leases and licenses, also contribute to its funding, but only marginally.
The main activities of JCCBI are divided into two specific areas: Engineering and Construction, as well as Operations and Maintenance. Administrative services, such as Legal Affairs, Procurement, Finance and Human Resources support these sectors.
The Engineering and Construction Service manages activities relating to major construction projects, renovations and repairs related to components of civil engineering works and roads, such as girders, beams, decks, steel structures, foundations, paving and painting.
The Operations and Maintenance Service manages contracts for snow removal, application of abrasives, cleaning and maintenance of roads, landscaping, replacement of safety barriers, filling cracks and lubrication of bearings, maintenance and operation of systems for controlling traffic and surveillance cameras, electrical distribution and lighting.
The Company’s mission is to manage, operate and maintain the Jacques Cartier Bridge, the Champlain Bridge, the Bonaventure Highway, the federal section of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge, the Melocheville Tunnel and the Champlain Bridge to ensure their users a safe and efficient passage.
