Due to technical problems that have occurred recently (hacking), we have had to restore the blog related to the rehabilitation of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge. As a result, over the last couple of days, we have lost certain comments as well as some recent posts.

Therefore, we will republish some of the most recent posts. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we archive received comments and have sent most of them to the ministère des Transports du Québec, since these comments and complaints concern the work that is scheduled to take place underneath the bridge next weekend, namely January 27 to 29.
Thank you,

Message to sabrina. I read you want to get away from the city and want to move to chateauguay. Perhaps Andre Girard can mention when the bridge work is supposed to be finished, but I will guess at 2013. Bridge work on the Mercier means that in the spring you can expect massive amounts of traffic , one lane in each direction, weekends usually mean close to an hour or more sometimes to come and go on the bridge. So, barely moving at all, and cars trying to go in illegal sections of the road so as to get around you, constant jockeying intop position to go ahead of you, jumping the line. The native police never stop these infractions, they prefer hiding in the dark and ticketing you if you go 2 KMs over 70 KMs an hour. i speak from experience, so this is what you should expect.

I am planning to go to school in Saint Lambert. I do not know where to post this question. But, what are the opening times for the bridge in the morning and afternoon? Are both lanes open in the morning and afternoon?

Hello

I am living in Montreal and thinking about moving to Chateauguay to get away from the crazy city. My husband and I work downtown montreal.

I heard a lot of negative talk about the mercier bridge. Will I regret my move??

After investing so much money in the repair of his bridge that we all use everyday, wouldn't be a good idea to make it look also pretty. It is a shame that other cities have nicer bridges (like Vancouver). some nice lightning would do the job.....Isn't it Montreal a beautiful city, so why not besides making them useful also can become a nice attraction.

Can you provide any more information about what we have been reading concerning the reports that the repairs were not done correctly? Broken bolts, wrong bolts, plates not secured.........and that these repairs will need to be done again.........How is it that engineers can give a passing grade and open the bridge yet the reality is something different? This latest news is very alarming and worrisome!!
Will south shore commutors again become hostages to affect repairs that should have been done correctly the first time?!

@ Brian

There should be no work at this date and time on the Mercier Bridge. Two lanes will be opened in each direction. If you're not passing by this bridge, you will have to take the Champlain Bridge, and the trafic should be the same, so Mercier is a good option. Thank you.

I need to pick up a family member at Trudeau Airport on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 3 PM. How many lanes of traffic will be open in each direction at that time? We are coming from the south (Vermont). Do you suggest an alternate route?

Can you give me the current situation of how many lanes are open on the Mercier bridge during rush hour in the morning and evening during the week? I can't seem to find this info anywhere on your website.

Thank you,
